OUR PACK

Akela (Ah-KAY-la)

Akela (Ah-KAY-la) is a title of respect used in Cub Scouting—any good leader is Akela, which is also the leader and guide for Cub Scouts on the advancement trail. An Akela is not just the Pack or Den leader, but also the Scouts parents, teacher, religious leader, and any adult figure that is responsible for the care and nurturing of the Scout. The Scout is taught to always show respect to any Akela.

   LEADING YOUTH TO LIFELONG VALUES

Who We Are

Cub Scout PACK 3 is a chartered member of the Boy Scouts of America. We are governed by the local Boy Scouts Minsi Council of Forks / Delaware, which services over 11,000 Scouts. Our  Pack is hosted by the College Hill Presbyterian Church in Easton PA, just blocks away from Lafayette College.

What We Offer

No matter which DEN the scout is in, Pack 3 provides a fun and learning environment for the scout to grow.

We track and provide badges and recognition beads that help the scout track their progress through their Den.  There are various tasks that the scout must accomplish to advance to the next Den. These tasks are explained in the Scouts Den Handbook that we provide to the Scout when he joins. As the Scout advances to the next level (or Den) we will provide a new handbook relating to his new Den.

We also award belt loop that represent special accomplishments the scout has earned. The belt loops are not a requirement for Den advancement, but are like a ‘badge’  to show an accomplishment the Scout has earned in a specific field. These can be events from archery to rock wall climbing, social activities to environmental causes, sporting activities to spiritual pursuits, academics to art. The possibilities are almost limitless, and the best thing of all is they can gained while participating with his den or pack, and most importantly, can also be earned at home with his parents.

Our pack helps the Scout grow through encouraging interaction with their fellow Scouts and their families.
